    Whisk egg yolks with a hand blender, gradually adding granulated sugar until light and foamy.

    In a second bowl, beat egg whites until frothy.

    Then gradually add remaining granulated sugar and keep beating until medium-stiff peaks form.

    Fold the meringue into the egg yolk mixture.

    In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour , fine sea salt , and baking powder .

    Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture and fold until thoroughly combined.

    Spray a 9x13 cake pan liberally with oil and add the cake batter.

    Whisk evaporated milk , sweetened condensed milk , and heavy cream together, along with vanilla bean .

    Prick the cooled cake with a fork.

    Pour the milk mixture over the cake.

    In a saucepan , combine sugar and milk .

    Set over medium heat until it starts to bubble, then reduce heat.
